“…In the IR spectra of 4-6 the most prominent features are the strong absorption bands at ca. 1200 cm -1 , which are attributable to the S-O 3 -groups in 4-6 are also in a μ 1,3 -bridging mode. [7,8] UV/Vis spectroscopic data of 4-6 were recorded from 190-1600 nm in acetonitrile solution at room temperature with a Jasco V-670 UV/Vis/NIR spectrophotometer.…”

“…[4] The phenylsulfonato complexes in 4-6 lack this transition, in agreement with the conversion of the soft thiolate to hard sulfonate groups. As a consequence, the spin-allowed 3 …”

“…Similar behaviour has also been observed for complexes 3. [17] The magnitude of the interaction was determined by least-squares fitting of the experimental magnetic susceptibility data to the spin Hamiltonian [Equation (1)] [18] over the temperature range of 2-330 K by using a full-matrix diagonalisation approach. Isotropic Heisenberg-Dirac-van Vleck exchange, the single zero-field splitting and the single-ion Zeeman interactions were taken into account.…”
