Magnetic structure of theEu2+moments in superconductingEuFe2(As1x

Abstract: The magnetic structure of the Eu 2+ moments in the superconducting EuFe2(As1−xPx)2 sample with x = 0.19 has been determined using neutron scattering. We conclude that the Eu 2+ moments are aligned along the c direction below TC = 19.0(1) K with an ordered moment of 6.6(2) µB in the superconducting state. An impurity phase similar to the underdoped phase exists within the bulk sample which orders antiferromagnetically below TN = 17.0(2) K. We found no indication of iron magnetic order, nor any incommensurate ma… Show more

“…Such coexistence of strong ferromagentism and superconducivity was also observed in other doped EuFe 2 As 2 compounds including EuFe 2 (As 1−x P x ) 2 , 10,34,51 Eu(Fe 1−x Ru x ) 2 As 2 , 12 and Eu(Fe 1−x Ir x ) 2 As 2 . 13,35,52 Interestingly, in the phase diagram shown in Fig.…”

“…In the case of samples P015 and P0165, two clear humps can be resolved in the zero‐field‐cooled (ZFC) and field‐cooled (FC) curves. It has been shown, that the feature at TN can be assigned to the magnetic ordering of the Eu2+ moments with strong ferromagnetic component out of plane . The dip at TSG preceding the second hump is identified as a transition to an in‐plane glass‐like behavior of the Eu spins ().…”

“…From magnetization measurements for magnetic fields within the ab‐plane, it has been deduced, that the 4f ordering changes its character from AF to FM at P concentrations beyond x=0.23 (). Recent neutron scattering has shown that the Eu 4f moments order ferromagnetically along the c ‐axis already for x=0.19 (). The proposed canted AF order, deduced from bulk magnetization measurements () could not be confirmed ().…”
