“…As reported in Ref. [25] for a very similar system, the value of Zeeman splitting shows linear dependence on B and displays a slope of 120 μeV/T. By applying this rate to our QD-QR hybrid structure, we estimated the value for the Zeeman splitting on the order of 2.5 meV for B = 21 T in the sample.…”

“…As mentioned above, a certain softening is expected due to the incomplete dewetting process, however, the results obtained by intraband magneto-dependent spectroscopy 12 cannot be explained without an electron wave function that preserves the ring geometry. On the other hand, no evidence of excitonic AB oscillations have been observed in this kind of QR, 14 a fact that could be related to an increased dotlike character of the exciton wave function due to the enhanced Coulomb interaction in small QRs. 19,20 A detailed calculation of the QR electronic structure, including direct and exchange e-h interactions and the potential geometry revealed by xSTM, is out of the scope of this work; therefore we use the present model with the limitations just mentioned.…”

“…However, QRs have attracted the interest of the scientific community also because of their special topology. [11][12][13][14][15][16][17] The quantum mechanical properties of an electron system circumventing a sufficiently small quantum ring are periodic in the magnetic field flux penetrating the system. It is the signature of the Aharonov-Bohm ͑AB͒ effect.…”

“…This results in an additional, diamagnetic term proportional to B 2 , which we ignore here similarly to the experimental papers. 4,7,8,[15][16][17] Certainly, the most drastic assumption seems to be the δ-function potential for the two-particle interaction. Its use is of course motivated by our resulting ability to reduce the computational difficulties as we will show below.…”
