Abstract

IntroductionDuring the past few decades rock magnetic and paleomagnetic techniques have been increasingly used to study magnetic behavior of sedimentary rocks, particularly red beds of various ages. Widespread secondary magnetization in sedimentary rocks has been reported from many parts of the world with migration of hot exotic fluids assumed to be the cause of remagnetization (Turner
