“…Small frugivorous bats, especially Artibeus watsoni are very common at La Selva Biological Station (Timm 1994), thus making them reliable pollinators, whereas the only with certainty occurring mouse opossum species in the study area, Marmosa mexicana, is much less frequently observed. However, regurgitated pellets of spectacled owls (Pulsatrix perspicillata) show that they are a frequent prey at La Selva, suggesting them to be more common than they appear (Timm et al 1989). Cunningham (1995) revised hundreds of inflorescences for flower remains that permitted identification of the visitors.…”
