“…The diagnosis of SCN at EUS was based on the presence of a myriad of microcysts (2 mm or less) separated by thin septa, which sometimes appear as ‘layered’ and a thin cyst outline wall 18 19. In the absence of microcystic appearance, a low carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) level in the cystic fluid was considered specific of SCN 20.…”

“…Patient demographic and clinical information was collected from the hospital medical record system. Demographic information (age and sex) and eight imaging factors known to be valuable in distinguishing SCNs from MCNs from previous studies were selected as the basis for constructing the clinical model (22,23). Two radiologists with considerable experience in abdominal imaging (13 and 6 years, respectively) evaluated the features in consensus including: (1) lesion size, (2) tumor location (head, neck, body, and tail), (3) cyst number (single or multiple), (4) calcification (absent or present), (5) septation (absent or present), (6) lesion shape (oval or irregular lobulation), (7) wall enhancement (absent or present), and (8) mural nodules (absent or present).…”

“…It has been reported to be from 1% to 4%. 19 In our case, if EUS guided CFA was carried out before the surgery and CEA level was checked, the operation might have been avoided. We only examined the intraoperative cystic amylase level, so it was impossible to exclude other cystic diseases.…”
