Management of Iatrogenic Furcation Perforation in Mandibular First Molar With Biodentine- Two Years Follow Up

Abstract: Successful management of furcation perforations poses a challenge for a clinician. The perforation can result from iatrogenic causes, caries or resorption. It is advisable to repair the perforation as soon as it is identified, since any delay allows the bacterial ingress leading to a complicated endodontic–periodontal lesion and ultimately in the treatment failure. This case report describes successful management of a furcal perforation in a mandibular first molar, which was repaired using Biodentine. The endo… Show more

“…It comprises calcium silicates and luminates, calcium sulfates, and calcium aluminoferrite (15) . Endoseal MTA reported to have different endodontic employments as obturation of the root canal system and perforation repair, and also has advantages of being biocompatibile and induce hard tissue formation, has antibacterial Push-out Bond Strength of Endoseal MTA and AH Plus Sealers after Using Apple Vinegar (615) impact, acceptable physic-chemical characteristics as short setting time, appropriate flow, premium film thickness, and direct easy application into the root canal system (16)(17)(18) .…”

“…It has superior properties, such as higher microhardness, shorter setting time, better sealing ability, and higher compressive strength than MTA [15, 16]. Some recently published case reports have demonstrated the ability of Biodentine to successfully repair root perforations [17, 18].…”
