“…The development of a peripatellar nodule after TKA was first described in 1982 1 ; Hozack et al 2 then introduced the term PCC and examined the pathology of this condition in 1989. The symptoms of PCC are variable, and include patellar crepitus (which can be either painless or painful), a painful, palpable, and audible clunk, and even jumping of the patella that can require a second debridement operation in some cases [3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10] . This patellofemoral complication results in unsatisfactory and poor results after TKA, 11 and has become one of the most common reasons for nonrevision reoperation.…”
