Seeds... Reflecting on the fruits of a professional careerAbstract: This essay is part of the memorial presented as a requirement of the first Public Examination for the position of Full Professor in Occupational Therapy at the Department of Neuroscience and Behavioral Sciences of Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo. The aim is to narrate a reflection that describes my personal and professional life trajectory during these 30 years since my degree in Occupational Therapy. I describe the paths travelled with determination and commitment, and also the eventualities that cause deviations in the route, but provide great learning opportunities. These paths were sown with practice, lecturing and research on childcare and on the role of occupational therapy. The fruits include the undergraduate training of many occupational therapists, some scientific productions in this area of knowledge and, more recently, the postgraduate training of students in two distinct graduate programs that gather practitioners of occupational therapy and other related fields in our research group. I believe this essay will contribute to motivate other professionals to overcome difficulties similar of mine and to further contribute to the development of occupational therapy in Brazil.
