Mathematical and experimental study of deformations of a steel roll of a road roller with a variable geometry of a contact surface

Abstract: The lack of a common methodology on compaction theory stimulates developers of road construction equipment to create various approximate methods for their calculation, the number of which, at the present time, is comparable with the nomenclature of the proposed designs of rollers. The article presents the analysis of the deformable shell behavior of a road roller, and the compacted material under its compacting roller, in a situation when a rigid circular shell of the roller is replaced by a forcefully deforma… Show more

“…It was decided to replace natural snow with a material that most closely imitates snow and has a reproducible constancy of properties, especially since recommendations were found according to which the starting materials were selected, namely sawdust, sand and paraffin, a mixture of which in a certain percentage proportion was imitating snow material [4,6,7,12]. The same materials were used in previous experiments, so the physical and mechanical properties of the material simulating snow did not differ from those known [1,2,13].…”

“…To compare the effectiveness of ITEX fiber with existing analogs, SFRC with an anchor fiber 1/50 Hendix and Dramix 3D 80/60BG was also considered. The amount percentage of reinforcement with wire fiber was adopted as 1%, 1.5% and 2%.The composition of the components for fine-grained concrete matrix was selected in accordance with the recommendations of [3,[8][9][10][11][12] and is shown in table 1.…”

“…The main properties and principles of the operation of FBG are considered in reviews [23][24][25][26]34,37]; in particular, technology of FBG manufacturing is considered in [23][24][25]29,33,34,36,38], and solutions of applied problems are considered in [23][24][25][26][27][28]30,[38][39][40]. The use of FBG for detecting and monitoring defects of concrete blocks is presented in [41], and mathematical solutions for some types of deformation are presented in [42].…”
