Measurement of D-meson production at mid-rapidity in pp collisions at $${\sqrt{s}=7}$$ s = 7  TeV

Abstract: and their charge conjugates. With respect to previous measurements in the same rapidity region, the coverage in transverse momentum ( p T ) is extended and the uncertainties are reduced by a factor of about two. The accuracy on the estimated total cc production cross section is likewise improved. The measured p Tdifferential cross sections are compared with the results of three perturbative QCD calculations.

“…This results from the anti-shadowing effect at large x and the shadowing effect at small x. We also see that the AMPT result agrees with the charm quark pair yield for 0- [50] and Λc data [52]. mated based on the STAR data of dσ(D 0 )/dy = 41 µb and dσ(D 0 + D + + D + s + Λ + c )/dy = 152 µb for 10-40% Au+Au collisions at √ s N N = 200 GeV [53].…”

“…3, we show results for the ratios of different D mesons as a function of p T in pp collisions at √ s = 7 TeV, and we compare them with experimental data [40]. We see that, within experimental uncertainties, the model results are in agreement with the data.…”

“…Whether this agreement is coincidental or not can be tested in the future by the data of higher collision energies, such as those in pp collisions at √ s = 13 TeV. [40]. We see that QCM well describes the data of D mesons for p T 7 GeV/c but under-predicts the data for larger p T .…”
