Measuring the Power Curve of a Small-Scale Wind Turbine: A Practical Example

Abstract: We show that the measurement of the power curve of a small-scale wind turbine system following the IEC 61400-12-1 standard might lack consistency. This is due to characteristics specific to small-scale wind turbines. We give recommendations to ensure consistency, accuracy and reproducibility of the measurements.
