In veterinary medicine plant based medicine is achieving a huge importance worldwide. This research was subjected to rectify the hydrophilic Moringa Oleifera alcoholic leaves extract could improve the immune system in vaccinated and non-vaccinated broiler Hubbard chickens experimentally exposed to Newcastle disease (ND) virus. Seventy five chicks with age one day old were splitted randomly into five groups equally in distribution with fifteen chick in each group. Group I was untreated unvaccinated (control negative group) while group IV was infected group with NDV (control positive group). The experimental Groups II and V were given daily oral treatment of hydrophilic alcoholic leaves extract of M. oleifera at 200 mg/kg body weight until day 21 of age while groups III and V were ND vaccinated with La Sota strain of ND vaccines. The four groups (II, III, IV, V) were infected with ND virus velogenic strain (VNDV) on day 21. Following to infection, Monitoring of birds were done daily for clinical signs, postmortem examination, morbidity and mortality. Cellular, humeral immune response and phagocytic activity were evaluated and the data were statistically analyzed using (SPSS). Total and differential cell numbers as well as Haemagglutination inhibition (HI) titre increased in the extract treated and vaccinated group which give total protection against NDV much more than treated and unvaccinated group. As a result it could be recommended to use M. Olifera e xtract from the first day of rearing in Hubbard chicken with ND vaccination program as a prophylactic treatment in protection of birds against ND infection.

Bambusa arundinacea (Retz.) Willd. is a large and thorny bamboo species used for construction and scaffolding purposes. Bamboo fibers, which are an important part of bamboo, give bamboo its excellent mechanical properties. The goal of this work was to get more information about fiber in order to learn more about bamboo material. It was tested for different ages, heights, and radial positions using the nanoindentation method. The results showed that the mean values of indentation modulus of elasticity and hardness of this species were 20.79 GPa and 497.01 MPa, respectively, and that the mechanical properties of the fiber cell walls were less affected by the three factors and were generally consistent. In regards to the age factor, it had little effect on the indentation modulus of elasticity, while the hardness increased slightly with age. The indentation modulus of elasticity and hardness tended to increase with increasing height. The fiber strength was relatively stable in different parts of the radial direction.

Quasistatic nanoindentation is a proven tool that provides information on the micromechanical behavior of wood cell walls. However, quasistatic tests cannot probe the time-dependent mechanical behavior shown by wood. Nanoindentation dynamic mechanical analysis (nanoDMA) can mesaure the viscoelastic properties of wood cell walls. This research aimed to study the quasistatic and viscoelastic properties of individual radiata pine wood (Pinus radiata D. Don) cell wall layers. To minimize variability and retrieve both properties at the same locations, a load function composed of a multiload-quasistatic function followed by dynamic reference frequency segments was developed. Nanoindentations were then performed on the S2 layer and compound corner middle lamella (CCML) of unembedded latewood cells. Because the S2 layer is anisotropic, both transverse and longitudinal-tangential wood planes were studied. In the transverse plane, the average results of the quasistatic elastic moduli (Es) for the S2 layer and CCML were 15.7 GPa and 4.6 GPa, respectively. In the longitudinal-tangential plane, the E_s was 3.9 GPa. In the transverse section, the hardness (H) of the S2 layer and CCML were 331 MPa and 277 MPa, respectively, and in the longitudinal-tangential section H was 244 MPa. To acquire the viscoelastic properties, measurements were made over more than three decades of frequency. An increase of the storage modulus (E'), and a reduction of the loss modulus (E'') and loss factor (tan⁡ δ ) as frequency increased were found in both wood orientations. The quasi-static and dynamic indentations equivalent at 0.1 Hz showed similar values for Es and E’. This study contributes to our knowledge of wood cell wall micromechanical properties.
