Mechanoluminescence of SrAl2O4:Eu,Dy nanophosphors induced by low impact velocity

Abstract: The present paper reports the impulsive excitation of mechanoluminescence (ML) in Sr Al O :Eu ,Dy nanophosphors prepared using a combustion technique. The phosphors are characterized using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and photoluminescence (PL). The XRD results show that the samples exhibit a monoclinic α-phase in the crystal structure. The space group of SrAl O :Eu,Dy nanophosphors is monoclinic P2 . The PL and ML spectra of SrAl O :Eu,Dy nanophospho… Show more

“…Strontium aluminium oxide pigments have been the most well known long-persistent photoluminescent materials due to their thermal stability, high chemical stability, nonradioactivity, recyclability, and high quantum efficiency. [24][25][26][27] The development of superhydrophobic surfaces has attracted considerable attention due to their potential applications in maritime industries, medical equipment, textiles, as well as antifouling and anticorrosive purposes. [28][29][30] Several methods have been reported recently for the production of superhydrophobic surfaces for a diversity of materials, such as wood, metallic, and textile surfaces.…”

“…Inorganic hybrid semiconductors [ZnS/M 2+ (Mn/Cu), SrAl 2 O 4 /Eu, SrAl 4 O 7 /Eu, etc.] exhibit ML phenomenon via piezoelectrically induced electron detrapping electroluminescence. However, the flexible materials supported by the rigid inorganic hybrid semiconductor phosphors hardly show any emission under weak stimuli because the soft matrix acts as a stress buffer, ,, while the concentration of stress could reduce the ML threshold and increase sensitivity . Inspired by the spider slit-based sensory system, we construct the slits on the ZMPs–PDMS film.…”

“…За последние 15−20 лет синтезировано большое количество механолюминофоров с высоким выходом механооптического преобразования. Особый интерес представляют механолюминофоры на основе редкоземельных элементов [1,[7][8][9]. Это, как правило, мелкодисперсные порошки, полученные методом высокотемпературного спекания оксидов различных элементов, в состав которых входят редкоземельные элементы, которые являются центрами фотолюминесценции и механолюминесценции.…”
