“…Numerous studies have documented that Hg contamination is widespread globally and MeHg can be highly toxic to wildlife. Birds are commonly used as bioindicators of environmental Hg contamination (Ackerman, Eagles‐Smith, Herzog, Hartman, Peterson, et al, 2016; Chastel et al, 2022; Evers et al, 2003; Pollet et al, 2022), and toxicity reference values are needed to improve injury assessments.
