“…In this work, tomato leaf metabolites were extracted using a single-step extraction method consisting of a polar solvent mixture of methanol and a buffered aqueous solution. This method is practical, is not time consuming and 250 has been shown to possess a high extraction efficiency constitutes an optimized extraction protocol for polar untargeted metabolites (Hendrawati et al, 2006;Verpoorte et al, 2007;Verpoorte et al, 2008).
