Abstract:The implementation of a new method to control linecommutated converters in discontinuous conduction mode is presented. The method is based on the modification of the thyristor's firing angle α using a linear approximation, yielding nearly the same dynamic performance as in continuous conduction mode. The firing angle is corrected by adding a supplementary angle ∆α, calculated by estimating the average output current. The proposed technique significantly reduces computational burden, thus being suitable for onl… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
