“…Transition metal-oxide spinels are important in many application fields because of their high thermal resistance and catalytic, electronic and optical properties. They are commonly used in semiconductor and sensor technology as well as in heterogeneous catalysis [23][24][25][26][27]. In this report, for the first time, we had presented the green approach for preparation of CoAl 2 O 4 nanoparticles by novel sol-gel method in the presence of gelatin without adding external capping agent, capping agent or template.…”

“…The electrical resistivity of spinel was reduced by four orders of magnitude when the air humidity increased from 6% RH to 97% RH. Other authors ( Ref 16,24,30) had observed the same trend (i.e., a linear decrease in electrical resistance with increasing humidity) while measuring the insulating properties of spinel in the form of powders or plasma-sprayed coatings. Consequently, those authors proposed the use of spinel materials in the development of ceramic humidity sensors.…”

“…Several thermal features took place during the heating of the sample. The DTA curve shows a small endothermic peak occurring at 57.4°C accompanied with a weight loss of 9.66% in the TGA curve that attributed to the evaporation of the physically adsorbed water 35,36 . Two sharp peaks followed; the first is an exothermic at 254.2°C while the second is an endothermic one taking place at 261.1°C, attributed to a total weight loss of 35.63% due to successive decomposition of the organo-zirconiaceria complex product of the reaction, and further the carbon evolution.…”
