MicroRNA‐198‐5p inhibits the migration and invasion of non‐small lung cancer cells by targeting fucosyltransferase 8

Abstract: Lung cancer is a leading cause of high mortality among cancer patients. According to different histomorphological features, lung cancer is divided into two categories, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC), which account for about 85% and 15% of total lung cancers, respectively. Further, NSCLC can be divided into squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma and large cell carcinoma. 1 Lung cancer is often misdiagnosed as tuberculosis due to their common symptoms and patients with l… Show more

“…The fucosyltransferase (FUT) family are the key enzymes in cell-surface antigen synthesis during various biological processes such as tumor proliferation, metastasis and drug resistance (18,19). At present, a total of 13 members consisted FUT1 to FUT11, protein O-fucosyltransferase 1 (POFUT1) and POFUT2 were identified.…”

“…Lung cancer can be divided into two subtypes, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer. NSCLC can be further divided into adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and large cell carcinoma, accounting for about 80% of all lung cancer cases 2,3 . However, the main means of cancer treatment is still surgery combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy 4 .…”
