Microbial Metabolites of 3-n-butylphthalide as Monoamine Oxidase A Inhibitors

Abstract: Novel compounds with antidepressant activity via monoamine oxidase inhibition are being sought. Among these, derivatives of 3-n-butylphthalide, a neuroprotective lactone from Apiaceae plants, may be prominent candidates.
