Micronutrient deficiencies in heart failure: Mitochondrial dysfunction as a common pathophysiological mechanism?

Abstract: Heart failure is a devastating clinical syndrome, but current therapies are unable to abolish the disease burden. New strategies to treat or prevent heart failure are urgently needed.
