Microstructural and piezoelectric properties of PZN substituted PMN-PZT ceramics for multilayer piezoelectric transformer

Abstract: In this paper, in order to develop the low temperature sintering ceramics for multilayer piezoelectric transformers, Pb[(Mn 1/3 ,Nb 2/3 ) 0.07 (Zn 1/3 Nb 2/3 ) a (Zr 0.48 Ti 0.52 ) 1-0.07-a O 3 ] ceramics were prepared with the variations of PZN from 2 to 14 mol% and their dielectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated. Sintering temperature was varied from 940 to 1000 • C. At 8 mol% PZN substituted specimen sintered at 970 • C, electromechanical coupling factor(kp), mechanical quality factor(Qm), d… Show more

“…In this paper, from these viewpoints, for searching MPB (morphotrophic phase boundary) region with high electromechanical coupling factor (k p ) and piezoelectric constant (d 33 ) values for multilayer actuator application, Pb(Mg 1/2 W 1/2 )O 3 -Pb(Ni 1/3 Nb 2/3 )O 3 -Pb(Zr,Ti)O 3 ceramics, in which Pb(Mg 1/2 W 1/2 )O 3 is added to the Pb(Ni 1/3 Nb 2/3 )O 3 -Pb(Zr,Ti) O 3 system, were fabricated according to the amount of Pb (Ni 1/3 Nb 2/3 )O 3 substitution, and also Li 2 CO 3 and CaCO 3 as sintering aids were added to them in order to lower sintering temperature [5,6]; their piezoelectric and dielectric properties were investigated and evaluated for multilayer piezoelectric actuator application.…”
