Microstructural Characterization of Intermediate Layer Produced at Aluminum/Metallic Glass Interface Fabricated by Magnetic Pulse Welding

Abstract: Lap joining of crystalline pure aluminum and metallic glass (Zr 48 Cu 36 Al 8 Ag 8 and Cu 50 Zr 42.5 Al 7.5 ) was carried out by using magnetic pulse welding. Transmission electron microscopy was performed for the welding interface in order to investigate microstructure of the intermediate layer produced at the welding interface.
