“…Thereby, initiating homopolymerization reaction and thus the low graft yield was observed beyond optimum monomer concentration. Similar observation was reported by other workers [17] . So the optimum monomer concentration is 71.42 g/L.…”

“…The spectra of starch‐ g ‐polyacrylamide (PAM) after water extraction shows all the absorption peaks of the native starch. Additionally, the peaks detected at 3425, 1658 and 1600 cm −1 indicate NH stretching, CO stretching and NH bending of the amide bands, respectively, which are characteristics of the CONH 2 group contained in acrylamide 6, 10, 15–17. Furthermore, the peak at 1409 cm −1 indicates CN stretching and that at 765–710 cm −1 indicates a weak band of NH out‐of‐plane bending 6, 10, 16, 17, which are the typical absorption bands of the amide.…”

“…These materials (grafted biopolymer) have been applied as adsorbents to extract trace metals [68], dyes from environmental samples [69][70][71], drug delivery [72,73], and flocculant [74,75]. Recently, Pourmand et al [76] prepared a new grafted copolymer with agarose for dispersive -SPE and the preconcentration of selected heavy metal ions [Cd(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II)] in vegetable and water samples.…”
