Miniaturised equal/unequal SIW power divider with bandpass response loaded by CSRRs

Abstract: A miniaturised equal/unequal substrate integrated waveguide power divider with bandpass filtering response loaded by complementary split-ring resonators (CSRRs) is proposed. The proposed structure is based on the theory of evanescent mode propagation. The use of the CSRRs enables the filtering function of the power divider and is able to reduce its size. By changing the orientations of the CSRRs, the equal/unequal power dividers are achieved. In the unequal power divider, the power ratio can be arbitrarily con… Show more

“…For symmetry reasons, the CSRRs loaded face‐to‐face oriented provide equal power dividing. Also, the proposed structure can obtain a power divider with different power division ratios by changing the orientations of the CSRRs and locations of the output ports . The CSRRs are modeled as a shunt‐connected LC resonator tank.…”

“…Due to the need to meet the small size requirement of sub-6G portable devices, compact sub-6G filter design has become a hot research topic in recent years. Substrate integrated waveguides (SIWs) are widely used in RF (Radio Frequency) passive device designs due to their low loss and low cost and the flexibility of their integration properties, such as their filter [1][2][3][4][5][6], antenna [7][8][9], phase shifter [10][11][12][13][14], power divider [15][16][17][18], coupler [19][20][21][22], etc. However, SIW filters under 6 GHz are still too large to meet the requirement of portable communication devices because of their long wavelength.…”
