miR-7641 modulates the expression of CXCL1 during endothelial differentiation derived from human embryonic stem cells

Abstract: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of small noncoding RNAs that negatively regulate gene expression through binding to 3' untranslated region. We identified and characterized the novel miRNA, miR-7641, in human mesenchymal stem cells. The expression of miR-7641 was downregulated during differentiation from human embryonic stem cells to endothelial cells. The CXCL1, a member of the CXC chemokine family, is known as promoting neovascularization by binding G-protein coupled receptors and is related to endothelial cel… Show more

“…In addition, the expression of miR-7641 was downregulated during the endothelial differentiation of human ESCs. The overexpression of this miRNA significantly suppressed the expression of CXCL1 (a member of the CXC chemokine family) [63] . CXCL1, which is involved in EC biogenesis and angiogenesis, is known to promote neovascularization by binding G-protein-coupled receptors [64,65] .…”

“…miR-141 regulates colonic leukocytic trafficking by targeting CXCL12 during murine colitis and human Crohn's disease [62]. miR-7641 can modulate the expression of CXCL1 during endothelial differentiation derived from human embryonic stem cells [63]. miR-126 bounds directly to the 3'-UTR of CCL2 mRNA, and overexpression of miR-126 in a human monocyte/macrophage cell line can attenuate CCL2 production [64].…”
