“…We determined the mass attenuation coefficients in an energy range covering the L-and K-absorption edges, the K-shell fluorescence yield and the Kβ/Kα and Kβ 1,3/K α1,2 transition probability ratios. The obtained line profiles and linewidths of the Kα and Kβ transitions in Ni can be considered as the contribution of the satellite lines arising from the [KM] shake processes suggested by Deutsch et al [1] and Ito et al [2]. Comparison of the new data with several databases showed a good agreement but also discrepancies were found with existing tabulated values.…”

“…However, in the case of a double-crystal spectrometer with a higher order Bragg reflection, the instrumental function can be narrowed so that the correction for the window function remains simple (see [2,48] for details). Hence, we used a double-crystal spectrometer system (RIGAKU 3580EKI) with an end-window type X-ray tube with a rhodium target as anode material.…”

“…2, and the beginning of the transition metals, Sc, Z = 21, as a baseline (Table 11) together with the FWHM and AI. 5 of Ito et al (2016). However, the uncertainties imply further work is needed to confirm the theoretically expected pattern, and past literature fails to clarify or define a pattern.…”

“…The points are experimental from references (Salem & Wimmer, 1970;Nelson & Saunders, 1969;Ito et al, 2016;Hö lzer et al, 1997) The line shows the theoretical predictions of Scofield (1974). Processing of raw data is detailed in the work of The I(K 2 )/I(K 1 ) ratio as a function of atomic number.…”

“…Several mechanisms such as shake-off and shake-up [6], conduction-band collective excitation [7], exchange [8], and final-state interactions [9] were suggested to account for this effect. However, recently, Deutsch et al [4], Hölzer et al [5], Anagnostopoulos et al [10], Chantler et al [11], and Ito et al [12,13] suggested that the line shapes in Kα 1,2 x-ray spectra could be accounted for by the diagram transition, and 3s, 3p, and 3d spectator-hole transitions. Ito et al [12] reported that the FWHM of the Kα 21 peak, which includes the satellite lines corresponding to the Kα 2 line, shows a different aspect from that of the Kα 11 peak, corresponding to a Kα 1 line, that may be ascribed to the L 2 -L 3 M 4,5 Coster-Kronig transitions.…”
