By forming a temporary group, users in mobile social networks (MSNs) can disseminate data to others in proximity with short-range communication technologies. However, due to user mobility, airtime available for users in the same group to disseminate data is limited. In addition, for practical consideration, a star network topology among users in the group is expected. For the former, unfair airtime allocation among the users will undermine their willingness to participate in MSNs. For the latter, a group head is required to connect other users. These two problems have to be properly addressed to enable real implementation and adoption of MSNs. To this aim, we propose a joint head selection and airtime allocation scheme for data dissemination within the group using Nash bargaining theory. Specifically, we consider two cases in terms of user preference on the data to be disseminated: a homogeneous case and a heterogeneous case. For each case, a Nash bargaining solution (NBS) based optimization problem is proposed. The existence of optimal solutions to the optimization problems is proved, which guarantees Pareto optimality and proportional fairness. Next, an algorithm that allows distributed implementation is introduced. Finally, numerical results are presented to evaluate the performance, validate intuitions and derive insights of the proposed scheme.

The deployment of Internet of Things (IoT) applications in remote areas, such as environmental sensing areas, requires Disruption Tolerant Networking (DTN) support due to the lack of continuous network connectivity. IoT devices in DTN generate and store data until a network link is available for data transmission. Data mules or ferries are scheduled to travel among intermittent networks to collect data and disseminate configuration updates from control centers to all participating nodes in a reliable manner. The incorporation of efficient, reliable multicast algorithms into DTN helps to overcome the current limitations in updating large numbers of nodes in remote areas with identical configurations. In this paper, the current state of multicast routing protocols in DTN is outlined according to their design aspects. Open issues are also discussed to provide impetus for further research into the Reliable Multicast DTN (RMDTN) protocol.

Usabilidade da Informação na Comunidade Leitores BR (Aplicativo Amino) Usability of information in the Community BR Readers (Amino App) Andréa Silva Souza usabilidade, informação, redes, comunidade Esta proposta é um estudo de caso que aborda a usabilidade como instrumento na avaliação da informação na comunidade Leitores BR do aplicativo Amino. O delineamento metodológico foi concebido em duas fases. A primeira consistiu na aplicação do roteiro de interpretação de redes por Kadushin (2012). A segunda fase consistiu na aplicação das diretrizes de boas práticas do Modelo de Acessibilidade em Governo Eletrônico (eMAG). Resultados revelam que há requisitos de usabilidade não contemplados na organização da interface, como melhora da intuitividade e da poluição visual, aprimoramento da organização dos textos nas postagens do blog e da visualização dos comandos de busca e acesso ao perfil do usuário. usability, information, network, community This proposal addresses usability as a tool to the evaluation of information in the Amino application BR Readers community. The methodological approach has two stages. The first one is the application of the network interpretation script by Kadushin (2012). The second, is the application of the guidelines of good practices of the Electronic Government Accessibility Model (eMAG). Results reveal that there are some usability requirements not included in the organization of the interface, such as the lack of intuitiveness and visual pollution, the organization of texts in blog posts and obstacles to visualize search commands and access the user profile.
