Model-driven integration using existing models

Abstract: While developing software systems, and during the enterprise's subsequent evolution, developers define models. These models can help automate some systems integration tasks. The joint action model describes a new business transaction that motivates systems integration.

“…One can find these models being used in the requirements phase (i.e. the DDP tool described below), design refactoring using patterns [25], software integration [18], model-based security [40], and performance assessment [6]. Many researchers have proposed support environments to help explore the increasingly complex models that engineers are developing.…”

“…That is to say a class that defines specific properties upon an established semantic relationship between classifiers, in this case the metamodel elements from BPEL and WSDL. There are several approaches on metamodel composition and interaction [8,10,15]. More specifically, in [10] the key feature of this approach is the combination of new metamodels from existing metamodels, through the use of newly defined operators such as equivalence, implementation and interface inheritance.…”

“…The approach emphasises the compositional operations for creating new concrete metamodels and not actually relating them as cooperating entities, as in our case. Next, the approach in [15] suggests the integration of metamodels by a joint action model. The approach is based on message interactions, thus supporting more dynamically and interoperable models.…”

“…Um ponto de vista define um conjunto de aspectos estruturais e/ou comportamentais relevantes para a criação de modelos de um sistema [1,35]. Nesse sentido, uma visãoé um modelo que representa o sistema de acordo com um dado ponto de vista [35,36].…”
