Modeling of Properties and SI Engine Pollution of Associated Petroleum Gas in Iraq

Abstract: Modeling and simulation of process performance has been conducted around the use of theIraqi associated petroleum gas as fuel for the spark-ignition engine. The study included astatistical evaluation of the effect of each component on the total properties of the gas. Finally, the gas was tested as a possible fuel for the spark-ignition engine from theemission point of view. This was done numerically using commercial software wellestablished and verified for modeling the operation and performance of spark-igniti… Show more

“…-The impact of the economic embargo after 1991 until 2003, which isolated the oil and gas industry from the world and investments that develop this industry. In addition, the complexity of the technology to benefit from gas that Iraq lacks, the high costs of gas production technologies, the increase in gas flaring is directly proportional to the increase in crude oil production, since associated gas constitutes 70% of the gas wealth in Iraq, as well as the failed administration by the government [15][16] [17].…”

“…One of the challenges is the presence of old infrastructure that hampers the collecting and processing of APG, resulting in environmental issues and economic losses (Ali, 2015). Iraq's gas sector growth plans include several possibilities, including the continuation of current practices, the establishment of new processing facilities, and the use of gas for electricity generation, which has shown favorable economic and environmental outcomes (Ghadhban & Al-Fathi, 2001).…”
