Modeling the Propagation of Elastic Ultrasonic Waves in Isotropic and Anisotropic Materials when Excited by Various Sources

Abstract: This work is devoted to the investigation of the characteristics of acoustic emission waves to establish their relations with the parameters of the fracture of the structure of the material. The paper presents the results of the analysis of acoustic emission signals recorded during the propagation of ultrasonic waves in metal sheet materials using piezoelectric sensors. The specimen was a rectangular aluminum plate. The piezoelectric sensor recorded acoustic emission signals generated by the Hsu-Nielsen source… Show more

“…The types of sources and geometric characterize the form of wave propagation at a certain distance of its registration. Therefore, using these features of high frequency, the author reported in work [16,17] to classify and identify different types of sources. By the nature of acoustic emission phenomenon, can be used the features of the propagated elastic waves and the main parameters of registered acoustic signals, such as peak signal amplitude, rise-time, average frequency, the count of activities and the energy to characterize damage.…”

“…The actual direction of modification of building materials is the use of plasma technologies [23][24][25]. This work is a continuation of previously initiated studies on the modification of sorbents based on natural zeolites and bentonites [26][27][28]. The purpose of the work is to study the effect of low temperature plasma on the sorption capacity of diatomaceous earth.…”
