Modification of the Adhesive Force by Changing the Radial Reaction on Vehicle Wheels

Abstract: This article deals with the possibilities of adhesion force changes of a road vehicle. The authors present the possibilities of reducing the adhesion force of road vehicles and, at the same time, present their own system for changing the radial reaction of the vehicle wheels. This system removes the disadvantages of a commercially available SkidCar system. A representative road test is chosen in the article to determine the stability in a straight-line drive. Furthermore, the authors report the courses of char… Show more

“…The motivation of this work is to help SkidCar manufacturers to deliver a reliable frame for a given group of cars [14], which is, of course, significantly limited. Thereby, a prototype of an Alternative SkidCar (ASC) [15] has been compiled, with the advantage of possibly being used on an individual vehicle construction, that is to say, an experimental vehicle [16].…”

“…Establishing the relationship between the mileage and the technical condition of car tires is a significant problem of road safety. Along with the wear of the tires, the so-called drainage volume of the tread, which is directly related to its tread height [1,5,6] and [7,11,20] as in the works [17,19] is reduced. Of particular importance is the effect of various parameters on the vehicle's braking distance.…”
