Domestic and wild dogs of all ages and breeds are susceptible to Canine Coronavirus (CCoV) infections and be seen in Türkiye and amongst world. CCoV has recently been declared a zoonotic disease agent and the eighth pathogenic human coronavirus. This study was conducted on 143 naturally infected dogs with gastroenteritis which were not vaccinated against CCoV in Türkiye in 2015-2020. The data of dogs were analyzed seroepidemiologically, clinicopathologically and statistically. CCOV antibodies in serum and CCOV antigens in stool were detected by ELISA and lateral immunochromatography. The rising CCoV IgG antibody titers were detected at all dogs and were as follows; 64 ng/L in 81 (81%) dogs. CCOV and Canine Parvovirus (CPV) antigen were detected together in the stool of the 41 (28.7%) dogs. As a result, it was concluded that the CCOV agent is in circulation among dogs living in Türkiye. CCOV and CPV can cause co-infections and increased mortality. Although infection can be seen in dogs of all ages, it can be seen more frequently in dogs younger than 1 year of age, and especially in dogs younger than 6 months, and can cause enteritis, low hemoglobin, erythropenia, lymphopenia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and hypoproteinemia.

Due to the high level of urbanisation in Ukraine, during the years 2021-2023, there is a tendency for a rapid increase in the number of companion animals in large cities – dogs and cats. Humanity has not yet finally eliminated the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic, as world scientists have established the involvement of these animals in its spread, which causes concern among specialists and requires a comprehensive investigation. The purpose of the scientific study was to determine marker changes in haematological parameters and haematopoiesis parameters under the influence of coronavirus infection in dogs and cats. For this purpose, spectrophotometric and refractometric methods of haematological studies were used: morphological and biochemical parameters of blood, the functional state of erythro- and leukocytopoiesis. Considering changes in blood morphological parameters, the main parameters of the identity of the pathogenic effect of coronavirus on the body of dogs and cats were established, namely: a decrease in the number of lymphocytes, glucose content, and protein coefficient. There was a significant increase in the activity of alkaline phosphatase in the blood and α-amylase, the content of total bilirubin, and the erythrocyte sedimentation rate. In particular, it has been experimentally established that the use of leukocyte indices increases the information content of the general blood test for coronavirus infection, and additional analysis of integral changes based on leukocyte blood parameters allows determining not only the state of reactivity of the body, but also the extent of endogenous intoxication. The results of changes in blood morphological parameters are somewhat comparable to those in humans, which indicates the need for an in-depth study of the genetic potential of coronavirus pathogens in companion animals and humans at the molecular and biological levels. Experimentally determined marker changes in haematological parameters for coronavirus infection in dogs and cats can be useful for its timely diagnosis and prediction of the severity of the disease

Bovine coronavirus (BCoV) is a major viral pathogen linked to respiratory and enteric problems in newborn calves. The goal of this study is to look into the molecular occurrence, haemato-biochemical changes, and risk factors associated with the occurrence of BCoV infection in cattle calves at different dairy farms and small households in the district of Jhelum, Pakistan. From July 2020 to June 2021, 200 faecal samples were collected from newborn cattle calves exhibiting symptoms of diarrhoea and dysentery. S&C Biotech Bovine Coronavirus Antigen Rapid Test Kits were used to screen samples, which were then subjected to RT-PCR for molecular characterization. For the haemato-biochemical analysis, blood was taken from calves infected with BCoV. A questionnaire was used to collect information about the risk factors associated with the occurrence of BCoV infection. BCoV infection was found in 3.5% (7/200) of calves using diagnostic screening kits and 3.0% (6/200) of calves using RT-PCR. Breed, age, sex, vomiting, previous history of diarrhoea, body conditions, food type, colostrum feeding, deworming history, living environment, seasonal variation, and cohabitation with other animals were all assumed risk factors for BCoV infection (p<0.05). There was a significant (p<0.001) decrease in MCV (fl) and a significant (p<0.006) increase in TLC (1x10 3 /cm 3 ) on haematological analysis in BCoV-infected calves. TEC (1x10 6 /cm 3 ), WBC (1x10 6 /cm 3 ), RBC (1x10 6 /cm 3 ), and Hct% were significantly (p<0.05) higher. Similarly, infected calves had a non-significant (p<0.090) increase in K (mEq/L) and a significant (p<0.000) decrease in Na (mEq/L), Ca (mmol/L), Cu (mol/L), and Fe (mol/L) on biochemical analysis. It was concluded that the occurrence of BCoV infection was predisposed by assumed risk factors, and haemato-biochemical alterations were observed in BCoV infected calves.
