“…Fungi and their metabolites are the main source of bioactive molecules that show biological activity (Girometta 2019;Ogbole et al 2019). Among these sources, G. lucidum fruiting bodies have been reported to have antidiabetic activities.…”

“…In order to clarify possible adverse reactions and mechanisms of action, it is necessary to have a better understanding of the bioactive compounds in Ganoderma sp., which will be beneficial for clinical applications (Basnet et al 2017). Recently, Ogbole et al (2019) have identified and authenticated a puffball mushroom using molecular tools and investigated its anti-diabetic properties of crude extract and partitioned fractions in vitro and in vivo. By using a similar strategy, further research is needed to identify the active ingredients that contribute to the regulation of lipid metabolism by submerged G. lucidum cultures.…”

“…The Calvatia gigantea belongs to the family Lycoperdaceae and is commonly used traditional medicinal edible fungus, which has multiple pharmacological effects, including antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-tussive, anti-cancer, and suppressing cell growth effects ( 1 5 ). Since little has been known about the genomic information of Lycoperdaceae species, here, we presented a high-quality draft genome assembly of Calvatia gigantea CGMCC5.9 obtained from the China General Microbiological Culture Collection Center (CGMCC) as a reference for future studies of this fungus.…”
