Many people have helped me with my doctoral studies throughout the last few years. Their contribution was fundamental in reaching the goals of my research at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Loli brought me into the field of composite materials, and it has been a great pleasure to work with her. Her enthusiasm and determination have helped my academic and personal life.José M.
