Mononuclear luminous β‐diketonate Ln(III) complexes with heteroaromatic auxiliary ligands: synthesis and luminescence characteristics

Abstract: A series of lanthanide (samarium and terbium) β‐diketonates with heteroaromatic auxiliary ligands was synthesized. The prepared complexes were characterized through electrochemical, thermal, and spectroscopic analyses. Infrared analysis revealed the binding of the respective metal ion to oxygen and nitrogen atoms of diketone and ancillary ligands. Thermogravimetry/differential thermogravimetry profiles provided thermal information and specified the high thermal stability of the prepared complexes. The complexe… Show more

“…The color purity of Y 4− x Al 2 O 9 : x Tb 3+ ( x = 1–5 mol%) nanophosphors could be measured by eqn (15). 66,67 Here, ( x d , y d ) and ( x i , y i ) are the dominant and illuminated points separately. The color parameters for the chosen nanophosphors are listed in Table 5.…”

“…Typically, lights are regarded as producing warm light when their CCT was lower than 3000 K. The lights were classified as cool light even though their CCT was more than 4000 K. The McCamy empirical formulation (eqn (13)) served as a means of expressing the values of CCT. 60 CCT = −437 n 3 + 3601 n 2 − 6861 n + 5514.31where, n = ( x − x e )/( y − y e ), ( x , y ) are product's chromaticity coordinates and ( x e , y e ) is the epicenter position with x e = 0.332 and y e = 0.186. The variation of CIE-point ( x , y to u ′, v ′) to evaluate CCT values encompasses following calculations (eqn (14)).…”

“…These changes are due to the paramagnetic behavior of Tb 3+ . [ 42–44 ] The signals of auxiliary ligands shifted upfield in complexes 1 – 4 . A large downfield shift is noticed in NMR signal of methine proton of TTFA.…”
