Dentre as complicações descritas as mais comuns incluem: dor, hemorragia, infecção, sinusite, perda óssea periodontal, desvitalização e perda dentária, ulcerações em mucosa palatina, expansão assimétrica da maxila, e recidiva, podendo até incluir necrose asséptica e complicações orbitárias (Silverstein e Quinn, 1997;Carmen et al, 2000;Mommaerts et al, 2008;Suri e Taneja, 2008). Em um estudo retrospectivo envolvendo 131 paciente submetidos a ERMAC, Willians et al, definiram as complicações em duas categorias como sendo cirúrgicas e dentárias.…”
