“…Among the main functional organs, the first to be formed in P. brachypomus are the eyes, nostrils, swim bladder and mouth, which appear along the yolk‐sac and pre‐flexion stages. This is associated with the need for the formation of sensory and locomotor structures, which occur simultaneously in the search for adequate exogenous foods (Aruho et al ., 2019; Oliveira et al ., 2020; Silva et al ., 2021).…”

“…To determine the optimal water temperature for the growth of B. altianalis larvae, about 60 hatched larvae (3 ± 1 mg SD) were randomly distributed into each of 50 L glass tanks at temperatures of 24, 27, 30, 31 C with four replicates each. The larvae were fed on a combination diet of Moina and dry feed (57% crude protein) until 54 DAH when they had developed scales covering at least half of the body and presumed to be a Juveniles (Aruho et al, 2019). Feeding was carried out to satiation at 8:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Aeration was provided by an aeration pump and dissolved oxygen was maintained at 7.0 ± 1.2 mg/L and pH of between 7 and 8.…”
