MPPT With Single DC–DC Converter and Inverter for Grid-Connected Hybrid Wind-Driven PMSG–PV System

Abstract: A new topology of a hybrid distributed generator based on photovoltaic and wind-driven permanent magnet synchronous generator is proposed. In this generator, the sources are together connected to the grid with the help of only a single boost converter followed by an inverter. Thus, compared to earlier schemes, the proposed scheme has fewer power converters. Model of the proposed scheme in d-q axes reference frame is developed. Two low cost controllers are also proposed for the new hybrid scheme to separately t… Show more

“…In the feedback control configuration, the voltage and current information of the PV system are sent to digital controller and the system is regulated to deliver the maximum output power using a perturb-and-observe control algorithm [14][15][16]. The control structure of the photovoltaic system using digital controller is shown in Fig.…”

“…A common regulator used for renewable energy conversion employs power electronics. In [6,52,53,54], power electronics are alternatively used in wind and solar energy conversion systems in order to extract the power maximum of the wind turbine and solar panel. For example, a power converter is used to control voltage/current in a PV system [15,55] and speed in a wind system [56,57,58,59,60,61].…”

“…DC-DC converters have been widely used or proposed for different applications, recently for grid-tied renewable power conversion systems [1][2][3][4]. For the most part their applications are projected for photovoltaic (PV) systems [5][6][7][8].…”
