Muhammed İkbal’in Çocuk Şiirlerinde Yer Alan Değerler

Abstract

Muhammed İkbal is one of the figures that left a mark in Islamic thought. İkbal, who stands out with his poetry mostly, gained appreciation with his philosophical intensity in his works, his knowledge of East-West traditions, his intellectual and actual struggle to raise awareness of the Islamic world. It can be said that in some of his poems, his efforts by addressing the children are based on a basis and are consistent with not forgetting the real interlocutors of generation building. In this context, his poems for children contain many values. It is possible to say that these values correspond mostly to a religious, custom and cultural response. As it is known, children's books written in accordance with the concept of value should help children internalize the good, the beautiful and the truth; it makes it easier for them to avoid the bad, the ugly and the wrong. Thus, children will have a better perspective by displaying behaviors that match their own values. In this study, it is aimed to determine the values in İkbal's poems for children in this axis. Thus, document analysis was used, which is one of the qualitative research methods. This analysis was made in the form of reading the related work and analyzing it in chapters. At the end of the study, it was seen that İkbal handled many different values in his poems about children in the scope of being conscious, love, belief, positive behaviors, etc.
