In this investigation we intend to analyze revealing sources of historical and social discourses as predominant factors that shape the world, as well as the academic context of international relations, to understand the low visibility of women in the political scenario, and also the factors that still hinder the entry of most women into the diplomatic career in Brazil. The theoretical-methodological paths involved take into account the trajectory of the struggle for the visibility of women and human rights in the public sphere, thus seeking to follow from the debate on feminist and gender theories and also from the insertion of these discourses until then silenced in the diplomatic sphere, including using an approach of observation and analysis of different documental sources, including the audiovisual "Exteriors: Brazilian Women in Diplomacy". The researched documental apparatus aimed to address the historical changes in the trajectory of women in diplomacy since their insertion in public life (politics), their difficulties and challenges, in order to strengthen the dialogue on a greater promotion of equality that allows the participation and occupation of the women in decision-making places. In this context, as a result, we conclude that Itamaraty is one of these institutional spaces. In addition to the limitations to the domestic space, these issues were built over the years, from a patriarchal view that still permeates the arena of diplomacy as a disputed field where women are still invisible or barely visible, requiring the adoption of affirmative action to effectively include and recognize women's rights in the diplomatic sphere. The thesis is not intended to present public policies of inclusion for women, but to present reflections on the possibility of implementing affirmative actions, such as quotas and the adoption of gender parity, which could collaborate to expand gender equality in Brazilian Diplomacy.
