Abstract:This paper presents the application of a viscous adjoint method to the multi-objective design optimization of a transonic compressor rotor blade row. The adjoint method requires about twice the computation effort of flow calculation to obtain the complete gradient information for each cost function, regardless of the number of design parameters. NASA Rotor 67 is redesigned to maximize the total pressure ratio and adiabatic efficiency. The multi-objective design optimization is decomposed into multiple single-o… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
