Multi-objective optimization of PV-CSP system in different dispatch strategies, case of study: Midelt city

Abstract: Photovoltaic-concentrated solar power (PV-CSP) hybridization has been experienced to combine the competitive advantages of the low cost of PV systems and the high energy dispatchability of a CSP plant coupled with a thermal storage system. The objective of this paper is to implement an optimization study of the PV-CSP system under different dispatch strategies, in order to get an optimal PV-CSP configuration and strategy to cover a baseload generation taking into account the equivalent operating hours for the … Show more

“…Especially in the tower segment, economies of scale have barely been realised yet and a large future project pipeline could trigger substantial cost reductions from technological learning, especially if lessons from past failures can be internalised [53]. The PV-hybrid CSP stations observed in recent commercial projects and proposals have proven to be a reliable way to push down power costs in the short-term without radical redesign of the CSP technology [35,54,55]. Such organisational, rather than technical, innovations are a promising approach to reduce the cost of solar "baseload" in the short to medium term, and could also increase in prominence in upcoming PV plus storage deployment.…”

“…At present, the study on the operation of a combined system of CSP, wind power, and PV primarily focuses on dispatching strategies. In [2], the CSP-PV project in Morocco was considered a research object, multi-target optimization according to a genetic algorithm, and the optimal configuration and operation strategy of CSP output under different dispatching strategies were obtained. In [3], the mode 1.…”
