Multi‐objective squirrel search algorithm to solve economic environmental power dispatch problems

Abstract: Major challenge in the modern power system assessment is to address the issue of Combined Economic and Environmental Power Dispatch (CEEPD). The prime intention of CEEPD is to mitigate the total expense in the power generation process considering the environmental collision caused owing to the discharge of gaseous pollutants of fossil energy. This paper bestows a new swarm intelligence technique, Squirrel Search Algorithm (SSA) to deal with multiobjective CEEPD problem in power systems. The SSA is devised from… Show more

“…They change their positions in search of food sources for their daily needs, and the diet they get is from acorn nuts. The presence of predators makes it quite challenging to fulfill their needs, especially in winter because of leaf losses [21]. It makes the squirrels less active in winter.…”

“…The results demonstrate the excellent performances of the SMA on different search landscapes. Ponnuvel et al 36 addressed the multiobjective squirrel search algorithm to analyze combined economic and environmental power dispatch (CEEPD), where renovate strategy and selection rules were utilized in the proposed method of efficiently handle the CEEPD constraints. The social optimization algorithm, which is independent on algorithm‐specified parameters, had been proposed by Karimi and Khandani 37 to analyze the ELD problem for optimal solution.…”
