“…To solve above problems, a new fabrication method of hot forging dies by bimetallic gradient surfacing technology was proposed by our group [9]. Two different ferrous alloys with gradient mechanical properties M A N U S C R I P T A C C E P T E D ACCEPTED MANUSCRIPT 4 were welded on a 5CrNiMo or H13 matrix as transition layer and surface strengthening layer to realize smooth transition of hardness and elementary composition.
