The integration of local wisdom and teaching method in all language skills are important to preserve the culture and to insert the character values. This notion relates with this study in which the local wisdom and group investigation method are integrated in teaching writing. Group investigation is teaching method that build students’ team work. Besides, the aim of this study is to explore the effect of implementing group investigation method and local wisdom in improving students’ writing skill. The research method used is a quasi-experimental study (one group Pre-test - Post-test). The subject of this study is junior high school students. The results of T-test show that there is a significant difference of students’ writing skill before and after getting the treatment. Besides, integrating group investigation method and local wisdom is more effective to enhance students’ writing skill. Furthermore, this study gives theoretical, practical, and pedagogical implications in teaching writing. The novelty of this study is that this study uses interdisciplinary approach, especially in integrating the local wisdom discourse and group investigation method. The contribution of this study is to the language teachers especially those who concern with writing skills, on how to develop teaching method using cultural approach in creative way

Educational accreditation qualifications in schools are the substantial part of education synchronous management. Synchronous management in the education unit can be based on the situation or condition of education at a certain period. This article aims to study of policy quality as the foundation of education in Indonesian’s policy quality by using the qualitative approach throught extensive literature, interviewing experts and personal experience. The situation or condition can be seen from the formation of policies and or the election of new leadership. 1) Merdeka Belajar is integrity and the result of policy, and there may be influence from the political elite as a means of fulfilling these situations and conditions. 2) In the management of basic, middle, upper and higher education units it is known as independent learning. 3) Freedom to learn is a reflection of the government in Era 4.0, which requires students to understand freedom as the actualization of human identity as a real human being, and not only freely expressing attitudes, thoughts, feelings and actions, but also free in accepting learning from all aspects of knowledge. 4) The actualization of Merdeka Belajarshould be based on student-centred learning, students as problem solvers, critical thingking, and decision maker. Ma'baca baca is a traditional practice of the Bugis community that existed long before the arrival of Islam in the Indonesian archipelago. This research explores the acculturation of Islam to the tradition of ma'baca baca in the Bugis community. The research is a descriptive qualitative field study that uses a sociological, normative theological, and philosophical approach. Data sources include interviews, discussions, and documentation. The findings of this research indicate that the ma'baca baca tradition in the Bugis community does not conflict with Islamic values. Instead, the tradition has been modified to incorporate Islamic values, and mystical practices have been changed to align with Islamic teachings. This research implies that the ma'baca baca tradition has changed after Islam's introduction. However, it is still preserved as it does not conflict with Islamic values. Abstrak: Ma’baca baca adalah tradisi masyarakat Bugis yang telah ada sejak lama sebelum kedatangan Islam ke Nusantara. Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji akulturasi Islam terhadap tradisi ma’baca baca pada masyarakat Bugis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan (field research) yang bersifat deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan sosiologis, teologis normatif dan filosofis. Sumber data bersumber dari wawancara, interview dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Tradisi ma’baca baca dalam tradisi masyarakat bugis tidak saling bertentangan justru tradisi tersebut dipoles sedemikian rupa sehingga praktik peninggalan orang terdahulu yang mengaitkan dengan hal mistis diubah agar mengandung nilai-nilai Islam. Implikasi penelitian ini bahwa tradisi ma’baca baca mengalami perubahan setelah Islam masuk dan tetap dilestarikan karena dianggap tidak bertentangan dengan nilai-nilai Islam.
