Multidisciplinary approach to giant paratesticular liposarcoma

Abstract: Primary paratesticular tumours are very rare and the spermatic cord (SCT) is the most frequent site of origin, with 20% of malignancy. Although liposarcoma is the most frequent histotype (46.6 %), less than 200 cases have been reported in the literature. We report the case of a 56-year-old man who presented a giant scrotal mass of 25 years of evolution and measuring 40 x 40 cm. It could be considered the greatest paratesticular liposarcoma described to date. Computed tomogaphy (CT) revealed mass features consis… Show more

“…Reasons to consider adjuvant radiotherapy would be for high-grade tumors or tumors with a high risk of local recurrence, since some of these tumors are radiosensitive. Chemotherapy could be used as another strategy in cases of dedifferentiated or metastatic disease [ 4–6 , 8 , 9 ] as in our case.…”

“…In this paper, we report a case of a giant well-differentiated paratesticular liposarcoma of the left testis with a left pelvic mass measuring 15x7x17 cm. We present this case because giant PLS is more rare with only a few cases having been reported [4, 5].…”
