Muscle weakness assessment in older intensive care unit patients

Abstract: INTRODUCTION: After long periods of hospitalization, older adults may develop muscle weakness that can affect their functional independence after discharge. OBJECTIVE: To assess muscle weakness in older patients admitted to an ICU.
