“…It is occasionally associated with other autoimmune diseases including pemphigus . Five human cases and one feline case of PNP with MG have been reported so far, four of which had thymoma and two had CD . MG and pemphigus associations seemed sporadic in our study, and among the patients with PV and PF who we examined, none complained of any typical muscle weakness.…”

“…[2][3][4][5] Unlike paraneoplastic neurological syndromes, autoimmunity aroused by tumour antigens against shared counterparts in the nervous system, 6,7 little is known regarding neurological involvement in PNP. Sporadically in the literature we have encountered PNP complicated with MG, [8][9][10][11][12][13] but these reports did not draw much attention as most of the associated tumours were thymoma, which is known to develop in at least 10-15% of cases of MG. 14 Recently a second case of PNP with CD and MG was reported, after the first one in 1999, suggesting a putative alternative linkage of PNP, MG and associated neoplasms. 8,11 The common background upon which these complications are based is autoantibodies targeting various tissues and organs.…”

“…A TAP patient reported by Zhang et al (5) was successfully treated with complete removal of the thymoma after presenting with preoperative respiratory symptoms. Winkler et al (6) published a case report about a patient with a rare triad of thymoma, myasthenia, and TAP. The patient reached the obvious clinical resolution of myasthenic and pemphigoid symptoms four months after thymectomy, without recurrence during the follow-up period.…”

“…In the past, myasthenia gravis (MG) has been anecdotally linked with PNP through isolated case reports [56,57]. A recent study has suggested that a robust association does in reality exist between these two entities [58•].…”
