Nanorobots: Future in dentistry

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to review the phenomenon of nanotechnology as it might apply to dentistry as a new field called nanodentistry. Treatment possibilities might include the application of nanotechnology to local anesthesia, dentition renaturalization, the permanent cure for hypersensitivity, complete orthodontic realignment in a single visit, covalently bonded diamondized enamel, and continuous oral health maintenance using mechanical dentifrobots. Dental nanorobots could be constructed to destroy car… Show more

“…Nano crystals have a loose microstructure with nanopores situated between the crystals and the surface of the pores (Shetty et al 2013). Nanopores are small holes that enable DNA passage one strand at a time, therefore making DNA precise shape of the nanocrystals play a large role in their function.…”

“…Extensive research on the effects and subsequent optimization of microtopography and surface chemistry has produced ground-breaking strides in material engineering. These new implants are more acceptable, because they enhance the integration of nanocoatings resembling biological materials to the tissues 11 .…”
